Over the past weeks, we have been treated to the work and talent of our teachers and students at both the Holiday Music Assembly and the Celebration of Light. We are thankful that many family members were able to attend and see the talent within the school and the importance of the arts in a comprehensive learning journey.

Our drama and music program has an incredible impact on our students and plays a meaningful role in their growth and development. It does so through personal interactions and challenges. Drama is not just a subject; it is a powerful learning moment that fosters communication, collaboration, creativity, resilience, and self-awareness. Through the art of performance, our students learn to articulate their feelings, work together as a team, and express themselves in ways that enrich their lives and the lives of those around them.

To fully realize these impacts, we ask for your support. Our current lighting and sound systems are in need of updates. These essential tools not only enhance your enjoyment of our performances they also create an environment where students can truly develop. With modern equipment, we can elevate our productions, inspire our young artists, and provide them with a professional experience that more deeply enables their growth.

By offering students the opportunity to explore their creativity and develop skills that will serve them throughout their lives, we more fully fulfil our mission to inspire academic excellence and a lifetime of joyful learning. Engaging in performance inspires excellence and is joyful while also providing lessons that extend far beyond the stage and into every aspect of their lives.

We invite you to join us in making a difference. Your generous contributions will go directly towards upgrading our lighting and sound systems, ensuring that our students have the tools they need to thrive in their artistic endeavors. Together, we can create a vibrant and supportive environment that nurtures their passion for the arts and empowers them to reach their full potential.

As you reflect on your charitable giving at this time of year, please consider making a gift to support the growth outcomes of performance at Matthews Hall. Every contribution, no matter the size, has impact. Together, we can illuminate the stage and provide our students with the opportunities they deserve.

My most sincere thanks for your consideration, and for believing in the power of performance to animate meaningful learning.

Chris White, Head of School
