At Matthews Hall, we often speak about the importance of community, and this past year provided a powerful reminder of what that truly means. On behalf of our students, faculty, staff, and Board of Governors, thank you for your extraordinary kindness, generosity, and care. Through your support of Annual Giving and the Matthews Hall Gala, you demonstrated once again that our school is sustained not only by shared values and aspirations, but also by a deep commitment to our current and future students.
We are especially happy to share that Annual Giving increased this past year, reflecting the growing number of families, grandparents, alumni, and friends who chose to invest in the Matthews Hall learning journey. At the same time, our Gala was a sold-out success, exceeding expectations both as a fundraiser and as a joyful celebration of our community. It was an evening filled with laughter, friendship, generosity, and school spirit, and one that reminded us how fortunate we are to belong to such a remarkable school family. On a personal note, and through the music and trivia game, it also reminded me of some absolutely wonderful memories of days when that music was current. Thanks to your enthusiastic support, we are excited to build on that momentum and look forward to creating an even more memorable and successful Gala this year. Please save the date, Saturday, May 1, 2027 at the London Hunt and Country Club. More information, including the theme for this year, will be shared in the months to come.
With respect to annual giving, we were able to reach our goal in service to upgrading our lights and sound on the stage. Thank you!
You may recall we aspired to move our stage technology from analog to a professional digital system including the theatre’s lightboard, sound box and digital board. We also wanted to upgrade the lighting system. As of this week, the order for that equipment has been placed and we may see the installation begin as soon as next week. This is all happening thanks to your philanthropic support.
As we make our way into October, information will be forthcoming with respect to our Annual Giving goals for the coming year, and we hope you will be able to continue participating, and supporting these priorities that in turn support all our students.
Thank you!
Christopher White, Head of School
