Head’s Blog: Spring is No Longer Around the Corner 

Back on February 10, I wrote a piece on how spring was just around the corner. I was, of course, misled by an unusually warm winter day which quickly retreated and left us with more winter. 

As I write today, we are much closer, the days are much longer and the grass may now be growing. Those are indeed signs of spring. The other indicator is our annual Gala and I am writing to you today to let you know that if you do not have your tickets yet and it is your intention to attend ( wise choice! ) you should get those tickets soon as we are now approaching our capacity. Yes, indeed, we are approaching a sell out! 

This year, we will see the return of the live auction and auctioneer, and we have also partnered with a silent auction company ensuring many interesting items in addition to those generously donated for the evening. The Events committee has also embraced a theme to which we can all find a connection. Whether it is or was through the music, the fashion, the syntax or simply that you were influenced by the vibe of the 90’s, you can come and embrace those moments once again. 

As we look ahead to this unforgettable night, I invite you to mark your calendars, gather your friends, dust off your best 90’s inspiration, and join us for an evening that promises to be both meaningful and ridiculously fun. The Gala is more than a fundraiser—it is a celebration of who we are and what we build together. Let’s fill the room with laughter, connection, generosity, and the unmistakable spirit of Matthews Hall.
